There is some doubt that this taxon is synonymous with Albizia odoratissima, as mentioned in Mansfeld. If it is many of the names applied to A. odoratissima apply here. On the other hand some of the above names may apply to Albizia odoratissima but not to this taxon.

The first name is the name from Gujarat meaning "white siris". The second name means "black siris" and is a transcription from other Indian languages. "Black siris" seems to be used indiscriminately for various species in various Indian languages. The application of White siris and Black siris to the same tree is not confined to Indian languages. Albizia procera bears those 2 names in English.
