CHINESE : Ou mei san qi.

ENGLISH : Omei ginseng.

 

These are logical common names to apply to this species (assuming we got the correct transcription back into Chinese). However none of our trusted references confirm this. GRIN on the other hand lists the Chinese name under Panax vietnamensis, thereby suggesting a synonymy. This cannot be confirmed either by any of our trusted references.

It seems there is some confusion in both common names and botanical names when one considers Panax omeiensis.
We have bolded the names that appear correct to us for this "newly discovered" species for the 2 languages that present some doubts.
