Some confusion remains regarding this species. Is it only a synonym of  F. virens?  or is there a "Ficus infectoria" which is not a synonym ?. Consequently many of the names applied to this species may match F. virens as well ... or may apply to it instead. On the other hand the FRLHT applies many of the above names to a Ficus lacor var. infectoria and as a consequence many names are shared with Ficus lacor.

Notes

All these names appear uncertain. Our superficial understanding is that  Ficus tomentosa Roxb. ex Willd. is a species from India. Indeed IndFlora list it as a synonym of   Ficus mollis Vahl.
We could not confirm if  Ficus tomentosa Herb. Madr. ex Wall. is a synonym of  Ficus mysorensis Heyne ex Roth and therefore of  Ficus drupacea Thunb. We could not confirm if as stated by IPNI  Ficus tomentosa Miq.  is a synonym of  Ficus tomentella Miq. On the other hand Ficus tomentella (Miq.) Miq. as well as Ficus trigonata L. may well be synonyms of  Ficus crocata (Miq.) Miq.  as stated by  Cintia Gamarra Rojas but we haven't been able to confirm that either with another reference so far.
