This is considered as a synonym of  Myrtus communis L. by some authors.

Myrtus mucronata Cambess.

PORTUGUESE :  
Guabiroba.

SPANISH :   Araza.


It is not clear if Cambess. is the proper authority for this species. If not, chances are that this is a synonym of  Myrtus communis L.


Myrtus nivellei Batt. & Trab.

ENGLISH : Saharan myrtle.

FRENCH : Myrte du Sahara.


The validity of this species is ignored / challenged 
by some authors.


NOTES

It is not clear to which of these groups  Myrtus communis L. (Cineoliferum Group) or  Myrtus communis L. (Myrtenylacetatiferum Group) the pairs of common names below should belong. Can anyone put our minds at rest ?

ENGLISH :  Green myrtle.
FRENCH :   Myrte verte.


ENGLISH :  Red myrtle.
FRENCH :   Myrte rouge.
