Note(s)


The above list includes words in the three main languages spoken in Burma / Myanmar : Burmese, Karen and Shan and a "dialect" from the State of Kachin, north of Burma. The Karen and Shan words are displayed here in the Burmese script . They may also be found in the Thai index written with the Thai script.

This index is obviously in construction, has been for a very long time due to the lack of standard Burmese font. The picturial forms of the above names adopted very early in the building of the M.M.P.N.D. have been discontinued.
